Hi everyone
My name is Marlyn. I recently celebrated my 59th birthday (June 27th). I am a 2x breast cancer survivor who happens to have an auto-immune disease. I have for the most part not let my cancer define who I am, it is a "speed bump" in my life. I am very excited about this Grand Canyon adventure!! It almost feels like getting ready for the first day of school......anticipation of the unknown, getting supplies for the trip and it is probably the first time in 7 years I feel like my old self. I have a fabulous support system.....especially my husband and daughter who are there to cheer me on!!
I have been training for the hike by doing cardio, interval training and long walks....I recently walked 12 miles and felt none the worse for it, but realized I needed a pair of compression shorts. That's all for now.
